Privacy Policy — Pricecheck

This site is a single page that lets you join a list to hear when Pricecheck launches. This policy describes exactly what that page collects. Contact: the contact form at /contact.html.

What we collect

If you submit the signup form:

1. Your email address.
2. The date and time you submitted it.
3. The referring site and any campaign parameters in the URL you arrived on, so we know which link brought you here.
4. A two-letter country code for the country your request came from, which Cloudflare derives from your connection. We do not store your IP address itself.

If you write to us through the contact form, we also store the message you send and the email address you give us, so we can reply.

Separately, and not linked to you, we keep counts of page views per day. Alongside the daily total we keep the same count broken down by the broad source that sent you here — for example "reddit", "google", or "none" when no referring site was supplied. That breakdown is a set of numbers that go up. It records a category, never a full web address, and the categories are a fixed short list: anything we do not recognise is counted simply as "other".

These counts are not tied to your email address, to a cookie, or to any identifier, and they cannot be used to tell that a particular person visited. We keep them for one reason: to know what share of the people who arrive from a given place go on to sign up, which is how we decide whether to build the product at all.

We do not set advertising cookies, we do not use a third-party analytics service, and we do not track you across other websites.

Why we collect it

• Your email address: to email you once when the product launches, or to tell you if we decide not to build it, and to reply if you write to us.
• The date, referrer and country: to understand which channel reached you and roughly where demand is, so we can decide whether to build the product at all.
• Page counts, and their breakdown by source: to know what share of visitors sign up, and to tell real visitors apart from automated crawlers, which would otherwise make that share meaningless.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your address.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

If we later add an email provider to send the launch announcement, we will update this table before any address is sent to it.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or until we decide not to build the product. If we decide not to build it, we will email you to say so and delete the list within 30 days.

Your rights

Use the contact form at /contact.html and ask. You may request a copy of the data we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. We will action it within 30 days, and normally much sooner. You do not need an account, a form, or a reason.

If you are in the UK or the EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

This is a business product and is not directed at anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above, and where the change affects data we already hold about you, we will email you.
